NEWSMay 5, 2008 More TV and film successes this year! We'll be recording an extended version of the theme song for High Heel Samurai, and "I'm A Wanker" from our cd "Rubber Revolver: The Stinky Blackwater Tapes Vol II" will be used in an independent film called "Ball's Out" starring Randy Quaid! "Ball's Out" will be released later this year, we'll keep you posted on dates as we get them. January 31, 2008 We're back!! We're wrapping up the recording of our next CD, 'Orphans Of Graceland', and looking forward to a lot of cool things in '08, including the airing of ABC Family's "Greek" episode featuring our song, "Cave Boy". The airing has been delayed due to the writer's strike. We'll let you know when to look for it. We also got a letter from Fenway Park; Apparently, they want to play our song "Fenway Lights" over the speakers at Fenway during a game! We'll keep you posted as that develops, too. October 30, 2007 Our newest song, Fenway Lights is getting lots of attention in light of the baseball World Series. A few radio stations have put it into rotation, and WHDH TV in Boston aired a live interview, click here to see it!. Call your favorite station and request the song! We'd like to see this song become the Red Sox Nation's National Anthem!! October 17, 2007 The song "Cave Boy" from our dubut CD Love is A Train will be featured in an episode of the hit ABC Family show "Greek". The second season is in production, and the episode will air sometime in Summer 2008. The cool thing about it is the actor is going to be singing our lyrics to the music...ie a karaoke performance in a bar scene. They will be using our instrumental, and singing our lyrics. June 12, 2007 The benefit for Jason & the Scorchers drummer Perry Baggs was a HUGE success! Perry suffers from diabetes and is struggling with kidney faiure. The Scorchers put together a benefit show in Nashville on June 2nd to a sold out crowd and invited a few special guests onstage, including Dan Baird of the Georgia Satellites and The Digbees' own Bruce Hilton! Check out the video page for a clip of Bruce presenting a check on behalf of the band, and then performing "Absolutely Sweet Marie" with the Scorchers. And remember, it's not too late to donate to Perry! Five, ten bucks...Every little bit helps. Click here to pitch in and help a rock 'n' roll icon whose band created an entire musical genre. January 20, 2007 The big news around town is the 2007 RPM Challenge. Yep, the Wire magazine has issued the second annual challenge to write, record and present a completed cd in 28 days (the month of February). Last year we submitted our Beatles spoof, "Beat The Meetles; The Stinky Blackwater Tapes". Since then the cd has sold in 31 states and many foriegn countries, including Canada, Australia, England, Ireland, Spain, Norway, South Africa, Finland, and many more. If you don't have it yet, you can still purchase a copy here. Due to its success, we've decided to compile "Rubber Revolver; The Stinky Blackwater Tapes Vol II"! November 22, 2006 We got a song on TV!!! Here's an excerpt from our press release; August 15, 2006
We've just had a radio spot produced to advertise our RPM Challenge release, "Beat the Meetles; The Stinky Blackwater Tapes". It's a hilarious bit, produced by Pat Matthews, owner of Beatles-A-Rama internet radio. They're playing the spot on the air to promote the cd to rabid Beatles fans. Click here to hear it! If you just can't get enough Beatles, solo Beatles, bootleg Beatles, Beatle covers, or just plain Beatley music, you can find Beatles-A-Rama on your Windows Media Player, iTunes, and other media software. Or visit their website. And don't forget to request a track by the Digbees! June 25, 2006
Due to all the positive response we've received for our Beatles spoof cd, "Beat the Meetles; The Stinky Blackwater Tapes", we've decided to stop burning cd-r copies and have them printed proper. They're being manufactured as we speak (...type??) at US Optical Disc in Sanford and we should have copies in hand in a couple of weeks. The artwork on this "official" release includes the only known photo in existence of Stinky Blackwater himself (seen above). Click here for more... June 16, 2006 Great news on our Beatles spoof cd, "Beat the Meetles; The Stinky Blackwater Tapes"; It has been put into rotation at Beatles-A-Rama, a 24/7 Beatles/Solo Beatles/Beatles covers internet radio station. They also feature artists who sound "Beatlesque", and they've added the Digbees to that list! This site gets huge amounts of traffic, to the tune of half a million listeners per month, worldwide. We're very exited and honored to be included on the Beatles-A-Rama show. If you'd like to check it out, visit www.beatlesarama.com, or simply look for it in your Itunes, and Windows Media Viewer radio playlists. You can request a song by the Digbees by emailing them at pat@beatlesarama.com. June 10, 2006 We've officially added another member to the group; keyboardist/backup vocalist Gregg Pannier. Gregg adds that Hammond organ texture whch can be heard throughout the Love Is A Train CD, and he adds a great dimension to our new material as well. Speaking of which, we've started to make plans for writing and recording our next CD. We'll keep you posted... May 15, 2006 Jason Ringenberg is coming back to town! The former Jason & the Scorchers front man and Alt-Country Pioneer is coming to Biddy Mulligan's (1 Washington St, Dover) to play with us, the Molenes, and Jon Nolan & Tim McCoy. We'll be doing our set as well as a set of Scorchers' classics onstage with Jason! Jason & the Matchsticks ride again!!! Jason & the Bic Lighters???... Jason & the Dim Flashlights???... January 9, 2006 Well, a lot of people have been asking, and it's time to clear up the confusion; we announced a while back the addition of Steve Canty to the Digbees. While Steve's heart and soul are in the right place, his schedule simply won't allow him to work with us full time. As John Lennon said, "Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans". Steve will still be involved in the background, offering his love, guidance and support. Meanwhile, the fourth spot has been filled by Bryan Kelly, guitarist for Almost Now and Bruce's ex-bandmate from The Cause (fer you older folks!). For you Almost Now fans, don't worry; Bryan will remain in the band, as well as working with the Digbees. November 17, 2005 Our CD "Love Is A Train" spent its first week at number 2 on the WSCA, Portsmouth's Community Radio Station, and its second week at number 1! Keep calling in those requests! October 28, 2005 We'd like to thank WSCA for having us on the "Hear Us Out" show last week. We had a lot of fun. We also had a chance to make the big announcement... The Digbees have added a fourth member! Local guitar hero and all around nice guy Steve Canty is officially a Digbee! We couldn't be happier to have "Rverend Gator" on board. Hold on to your hats, folks! Keep your hands & arms inside the roller coaster at all times, cuz its gonna be quite a ride! October 17, 2005 While copies of our debut cd, "Love Is A Train" are still being pressed at US Optical Disc, radio stations aren't waiting around for final copies! WHEB has an advance copy and there are things brewing over there already. We'll keep you posted on that. Meanwhile, WSCA, Portsmouth's community radio station has put advance copies of the cd into rotation and have asked us to appear on "Hear Us Out", the local music show hosted by former Stone Church owners Paul LeBrun and Steve Capron. We'll be chatting with Paul & Steve from 9-10pm this Thursday, October 20th. We'll also be playing some selections from the cd live in the studio. For those of you in the Portsmouth area that can recieve the signal, its 106.1 on your FM dial. For those of you too far from the little tower that roared, never fear! They also broadcast on the internet, at this link; http://www.wscafm.org/ Also listen for Bruce to do a walk on during WSCA's "Split Brain Experiment" show, Tuesday from 1-3pm. Bruce will be chatting with DJ Mark Winslaide, playing some Digbees tracks, and spinning some of his favorite music as well. He may even perform some acoustic numbers (if his cold clears up by then). October 13, 2005 Great news! The recording of our debut cd, "Love Is A Train" is now COMPLETE! We're sending it off to have copies made, and they should be available in a couple of weeks. We'll let you know the minute they arrive! October 7, 2005 STOP THE PRESSES!!! We have a last minute gig to tell you about; Tim Therriault is putting on his annual benefit for Cystic Fibrosis... Well, I'll let Tim tell you about it. Take it, Tex! Saturday October 8th is our 4th annual Rock 'n' Bowl to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis!! My 6 year old God Son Trevor has CF and needs your help! Only $10.00 gets you in to see 6 great bands - Pondering Judd, Lemon Fresh Kids, Heavens to Murgatroid, Camarojauna, Starch (reunion show), and Andy from Satan's Teardrops new band which is as of now unnamed. We will also have a great raffle, and prizes to be given away. It all starts at 5:00 at Shooter's Pub in Exeter, NH. Be sure to get there early! ALL proceeds go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Hope to see you all there to help in the fight. So, long story short, Pondering Judd had to cancel due to family crisis, so we've been asked to fill in. We were originally planning to take this weekend off, but when Tim asked us to do a children's benefit, we had only 2 question; WHAT TIME DO WE START AND HOW HIGH IS THE CEILING, CUZ WE'RE GONNA BE JUMPIN' AND KICKIN' SATURDAY NIGHT!!! We go on at 6pm. Come on down, this is gonna be a rockin' night, and all for a good cause. Shooter's Pub is at 10 Columbus Ave., Exeter NH. September 13, 2005 Hey everybody! Have we got a treat for you this weekend! Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (where Dave & Bruce work) is holding a "Yay, we saved our Shipyard from the closure list" celebration. They're closing down the block in downtown Kittery where shipyard Gate One is, and having a block party! The event is from 1-4 in the afternoon, and we've got the stage from 1-3! And, as if that isn't enough, we will be joined by a very special guest; none other than Kittery's (and the whole seacoast's) own guitar legend, Steve Canty! Louisiana and Texas aint seen nothin'! Downtown Kittery is about to get hit with Hurricane Digbee! (no disrespect intended) We might even talk Steve's girlfriend, Kim Newcomb to come and sing with us, too (she is singing some backups with us on our upcoming cd)! So bring the kids along, and get ready to rock! There'll be dancinnnn.... Dancin' in the street... August 10, 2005 Well, we're all rested up after a weekend off... but we're making up for it this week! Tuesdsay night marked the beginning of recording sessions for our debut cd (tentatively titled, "Love Is a Train"). We're recording at Bruce's Ghost Hawk Studios. So far the tracks sound AWESOME! We'll keep you posted on its progress. July 17, 2005 What an incredible time we had Thursday, opening for Jason Ringenberg of "Jason & the Scorchers". This was a dream gig for us, and we'd like to thank Jason once again for coming out to rock the seacoast area. We got to rip up some Scorchers classics onstage with Jason as well. Click here to see some pictures! We got to hang out with Jason the following day, and even fed him his first ever fresh Maine lobster. He loved it! Jason wanted us to extend his personal thanks to everyone who came to the show Thursday. He loved the vibe of the seacoast area and the people he met. He assured us he would find time to come back again. If you don't already have it, we highly reccommend Jason's latest cd, "Empire Builders". It's an incredible work, like Bob Dylan incredible! And if you have young kids, you've got to check out his children's album, "A Day At the Farm With Farmer Jason". Even adults can't get enough of it. You can hear samples and purchase autographed cd's on Jason's website, www.jasonringenberg.com. You can also get cool Tshirts and stuff. We strongly urge you to support this Country Rock icon, he is truly a treasure to the industry, and there is no one more deserving. |
